Still in need of Volunteers for the day of. We are hoping that as it gets closer people will join the team. Also, there is still a need for procuring many items for the auction. Many businesses have been contacted, but need a follow up call. There is also still a need for some wine and rental houses. We are still hoping to make a thermometer to show what the kids will be earning with the funds made from Bingo. Starting from the bottom, 10 iPads, the iPad storage cart, then Artist in Residence, to Books for each individual grade level.
Given via telephone, due to slick roads. Thank you for the RFF’s. We recently purchased new nonfiction books with the Book Fair Money. Science Fair demonstrations have been taking place and are going great! On Jan. 30 there will be the 5th grade fly-up and forecasting. On Jan. 31 there will be an all school Assembly with dancing. February 1st will mark a day for all Elementary schools to do some nonfiction writing. Kathleen Fajardo entered a contest to bring the author, Pilkey out and we are waiting for the news regarding that. The Next Book Fair will be June 3-5. Cheryl will still be holding the Science Fair Poster Contest.
These made a ton of money off Columbia before the holidays. We are thinking of moving the Gift of Gift Cards program to another time of year instead of Teacher Appreciation Week. We are also looking into a push for Gift Cards to raise money to update the track outside.
Thursday night is parent night for Science Fair. Entry forms are due the 28th. A $5 entry fee is included for the shirt and the board. Mike Rider is designing the shirt again. On Feb. 5 Deanna will put in a day of staying at school for kids questions. A Pop-Up will be going on the Volunteer Computer for volunteering and reminders.
At the Veggie Grill this week.
School House Rock is going great! A man Jennifer knows well is coming to train the stage crew. There will be T-Shirts for all the cast and crew. Jin Ahn is painting the backdrop and we may be building out a stage. We will be changing a song due to not being able to find Nouns. There will be affordably priced tickets for people to attend the performance.
We received a grant for the Dance Group Body Vox to come to the school. They will come for 2 days. One for Kindy through 1, then 2nd and 3rd, and then 4th and 5th.
We will be providing Trail Mix next week for the staff. Just to mix things up a bit and show them we love them!
Next Meeting will be at 2:45 pm in the School Library on Feb. 11
