Jog-a-Thon

Thursday May 24th, 2012

 

It’s time to launch our annual Jog-A-Thon fundraiser 2012.   The run will be held on Thursday, May 24th, 2012. Parents and siblings are encouraged to attend.

Our goal this year is to raise $15,000 and have 100% Student body participation! If each student raised a minimum of $25, we would easily obtain our goals. And we have a VERY SPECIAL award for the entire school if we meet our goal! Mrs. Hagseth Camps At School & Pajama Day!!!

Monday, May 7th: KICK OFF! Pledge form, money collecting envelope, and these instructions will be sent home. Have your student fill in their goal for number of laps they think they will run in the 30 minute time slot.   Click Here for the Jog-a-Thon Sponsor Sheet.

Monday, May 14th: FIRST PLEDGE SHEET COLLECTION! Please do not bring any money yet. Turn in pledge forms to your teacher. Your pledges will be recorded and returned by the committee the same day. Prizes will be delivered at the end of the day with your pledge form.

  • Please continue to obtain pledges each week. Progress towards our goal will be on this page of our website.

Wednesday, May 23rd: FINAL PLEDGE SHEET COLLECTION! This is the final day to turn in pledge sheets and collect the weekly prize. This is also the day you turn in your flat donations in the envelope provided. We will not return the pledge forms until after the race concludes. The total laps completed will be indicated on the form so you can collect the donations from your per lap sponsors.

Tuesday, May 29th: Pledge forms returned to students with raffle tickets and new envelope. Student’s total laps will be entered on their form, and they will need to collect their pledges from their Per-Lap Sponsors.

Friday, June 1st, 2012 – PER LAP SPONSOR MONEY IS DUE. Please return pledges in the envelope provided from your sponsors that pledged per lap. Oak Hills will not bill or collect money from sponsors.  School tax ID form for any sponsors who want to claim a tax donation is available upon request.  Please contact Cyndie Pelto listed below for the School Tax ID form.

Fundraising Prizes:

  • A Trophy/Lunch with Mrs. Hagseth will be awarded to the Top 3 Fundraisers in the school!
  • Popcorn Party to top fundraising class in each grade level!
  • Pizza/Soda/Kickball Party to the top fundraising class in the whole school!

If the entire school meets our fundraising goal of $15,000 (remember, that’s only $25 per student!), Mrs. Hagseth will camp out in a tent at the school, and greet students in their pajamas the next day! PAJAMA DAY!!! YIPPEEE!!!

Raffle Prizes:

For each $5 dollars raised, students will receive a RAFFLE TICKET. Tickets will be returned with pledge forms AFTER THE JOG-A-THON, on Tuesday,

May 29th.  Raffle Tickets can be then be entered in the Raffle Prize Buckets in the Lobby of the School which will be available all week AFTER THE JOG-A-THON, starting on Tuesday, May 29th. 

The raffle prizes are listed below:

  • iPod Nano
  • $50 Gift Certificate to Piccolo Mondo
  • Nook Simple Touch e-reader
  • $50 Gift Certificate to Toys-R-Us

Laps Run Prizes:

Medals will be presented to the top boy and girl lap runners from each grade.  (Ties will be decided by the child with the most money raised).  All students participating in the Jog-A-Thon will receive an Otter Pop at the conclusion of their running time slot.

All prizes will be awarded at the final PBIS assembly on June 4th.
